Apply for Guide Dog Camp
During our two-day, overnight camp, teens 14 – 17 with vision loss—and their parents—stay on campus in our student dorms and learn how a guide dog can change their life. Campers learn about caring for a guide dog, walking with a dog in harness, basic cues, and more. This sneak preview is a great way to see what Dogs Inc can do for you—all completely free of charge.
Our dogs can help you get where you want to go—with confidence.
Want to learn more about what it’s like to have a guide dog? Now you can find out in person, on campus, at our Guide Dog Camp for teens with vision loss.
During our two-day overnight camp, teens gain hands-on experience navigating with a guide dog, learning about the training process, and discovering whether they are ready to take the next steps toward a dog of their own. Parents learn what a guide dog can mean, including the human/dog bond, financial expectations of long-term dog care, how to best support their teen’s decision, and more.
A room of your own, with all the amenities.
Guide Dog Camp takes place on our 33-acre campus in Palmetto, Florida, where both teens and parents stay separately in beautiful private rooms with private baths, TV, Amazon Echo, and personal patios. Campers and parents dine in our dining hall and enjoy chef-prepared meals.
